★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 香林寺は天正12年（1584）の開山であるが、同年葛西氏の支館、月の輪館の東門を移築し、山門としたものという。建築年代はそれより古く室町時代後期から末期のものと推測される。平家建、桁行5.15m・梁間3.36m、屋根はこけら葺、一軒疎垂木。前後の軒の出が等しく、その点薬医門と異なる。本柱が中央になく、前面に来ていて四脚門とも異なる特異な形で、中世城門の姿を伝えるものとみられる。妻側虹梁上の一対の蟇股の意匠は、奇巧で地方色に富む。
 Kourinji Temple was opened in 1584, but it is said that the east gate of Kasai's branch office, Tsukinowakan, was relocated to make it a mountain gate in the same year. The building age is older than that and is presumed to be from the late to late Muromachi period. One-story building, girder line 5.15m, beam spacing 3.36m, roof shingle, one rafter. The front and back eaves are the same, which is different from the medicine gate. The main pillar is not in the center, but it comes to the front, and it seems to convey the appearance of the medieval castle gate in a peculiar shape different from the four-legged gate. The design of the pair of crotch on the gable side rainbow beam is elaborate and rich in local colors.
