Don’t expect smile faces or super efficient attendance, office is a office, everyday the same routine. Try to understand the feeling of the office people. Let’s be nice with everyone, Omotenashi isn’t only the attendance is the both respectful. Sorry about the bad English.
S	Sarah Dunne on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There’s always this one lady who treats people as if we are just a disgusting bug on her soil. Unfortunately, I have had to receive her service twice now. I felt very little and un-welcomed. Seems like she hates foreigners. If so, I suggest she works behind the counter where her disapproving/disgusted expressions of us is not on display for customers to see. Not once did she look at me when talking and the whole time, she’s got a huge frown even though I spoke to her in Japanese and even though I was all smiley with her when I first approached her. The second time, I could not be bothered. She just made me feel so stupid for even trying to be nice and respectful to her.

I think the bad reviews are from the people who just show up confused and don’t know what to do. Bring a native speaker with you, I’ve even seen some people bring lawyers to help them out. Have your documents ready, and do your research before arriving and you’ll have no problem ?
C	Chaminda Madugalle on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saw some terrible comments(reviews) here but I don’t see anything other than a normal government office in Japan. The officers only do their own job. If we foreigners can prepare our own documents and related stuffs properly, we don’t have to face any problem here. Some people come without knowing anything which makes others to wait so long. Efficiency and all other things are same as everywhere in Japan. Better go early in the morning, could get a number first and get your job done. There is a free car park behind the building which may be difficult find.
J	Jess Eng on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I arrived at 8:00 and was asked to line up at the back of the building. Around 8:40 a staff came and gave each one of us a number and wait for our turn in the seats. I came early and was lucky enough to get the first number. At sharp 9:00, I was called and I hand the document over to the staff. There were 3 counter with 3 male staff. At around 9:25 I was told that I can go and wait for the postcard that will be deliver to my place. I was surprised that it didn’t even took 1 hour of waiting. I used to wait up to 3 or 4 hours at the Chiba immigration office. Overall the staff was nice and it wasn’t that bad as wrote by other’s comments. But I still see quite many people didn’t even prepare anything, and just ask for the form at the counter. So they would take time to fill the forms and maybe that’s the reason why we sometimes need to wait longer.
