ヨハン・ヴォルフガング・フォン・ゲーテ（1749年～1832年）
ドイツの詩人、劇作家、小説家、自然科学者、政治家、法律家。
日本では粉川忠氏が独力で東京ゲーテ協会を設立し、ゲーテ記念館を渋谷を経て北区西が原に建てました。
ゲーテの小径（写真）：ドイツのゲーテ街道にあやかって北区が付けた名前だそうです。
普通の道と変わりがないように思いますがガードレールに特徴があるようです。（写真）

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 一見閉まっているように見えても、インターホンでその旨を伝えると入館受付をしてもらえます（名前を書くだけ）。ゲーテに関するあらゆる著作や資料を網羅する、世界有数の資料館。茨城出身の実業家・粉川忠氏の尽力によるもの。
訪問時には、開催中だった「ゲーテの主要著作」の展示を見ることができました。数百冊にのぼる膨大なドイツの著作集は圧巻。ヴァイマール版の編纂には、「シュタイナー教育」で知られる若き日のルドルフ・シュタイナーが関わっていたそう。
