It was a statue of Jizo Bodhisattva. It was temporarily enshrined in the castle as the guardian deity of Kishiwada, but the world has not yet subsided at all, and it is not good if the statue is harmed, so it is in the moat of the castle. I put it in. Time passed, and during the Tensho era, when Matsuura Hizen Mamoru was the lord of the castle, the forces of Kishu and Negoro once attacked Kishiwada. Kishiwada, who is outnumbered by the large number of Kishu, suddenly became dangerous. At that time, a white lawyer appeared and jumped into the enemy and worried the opponent, but at that time, countless octopuses also appeared and infused the opponent with poison, so the opponent's army also retreated. However, none of the other parties were killed. After the war, the lord of the castle searched for a white priest, but I don't know at all. One night, a white priest stood on the dream pillow of the castle owner and was told that he was an incarnation of the Jizo Bodhisattva, so he immediately searched the moat based on the legend of the old man, and the statue of the Jizo Bodhisattva appeared. It was washed and a separate shrine was built in the castle, enshrined, and opened to the general public for 17 days to allow worshipers. After that, during the Bunroku era, when Koide Harima Mamoru was the lord of the castle, there was an opinion that it would be better to have more opportunities to interact with the general public so that the bodhisattva could benefit as much as possible. It was decided to move the statue to the outside. There was a begging of Osho Taizan, a natural temple, and it was decided to be enshrined in the present location.

However, when the Kishu revived and tried to encircle the octopus, a horde of tens of thousands of octopus appeared roaring from the seaside and retreated without killing the Kishu. Jizo's incarnation, Shirohoshi, and countless octopuses repelled the attacks of the Negoro-shu and protected Kishiwada Castle. Therefore, the Jizo Bodhisattva, which is familiar to Tenshoji, is the principal image.
