ふるい建物で素晴らし寺です
しかし 管理があまり良くありません
もう少し 美に感心を持って頂ければ
心が落ち着く素晴らしい場所です

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 由緒正しいこの天林寺。お経と読経には瞑想をしている感じでした。市役所迄500mの立地にあり、古き良き雰囲気が漂っています。
This historical Tenrinji temple. It was like I was meditating on the sutras and readings. The location is 500m from the city hall and it has a good old atmosphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 境内にお花屋さんが有ります。お線香も売っていて、事前に用意しなくてもいいので、助かります。元旦も、日曜日も祝日もやっています。お休みだったことがないので、年中無休かもです。
There is a flower shop in the precincts. We also sell incense sticks, so you don't have to prepare them in advance, which is helpful. We have New Year's Day, Sundays and public holidays. I've never been on holiday, so it may be open all year round.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真徳山 天林寺は、普済寺で修行した傑堂義俊（けつどうぎしゅん）禅師が、現在の地から数百m南に開創した「亀鶴山万蔵院」を起源とする、普済寺十三門派十四ヶ寺に列する曹洞宗寺院です。立派な総ケヤキ造りの総門、浜松市内でも最大級の本堂、広大な境内が印象的です。御本尊は釈迦牟尼仏で、遠江四十九薬師霊場の第二十三番札所でもあります。
傑堂義俊禅師は一段落すると、さらに布教のため渥美半島先端の伊良湖岬に近い地に「常光寺」を開きました。
楼門西の築山にある正岡子規の句碑をはじめ、頌徳碑や文学碑も多く、広い境内を散歩するだけでも楽しめます。
三方ヶ原の合戦から敗走する家康が、天林寺経由で八幡宮に逃げ、大楠の中に隠れたとの話も伝わっています。
Shintokuyama Tenrinji is the origin of the "Kamezuruyama Manzoin", which was founded several hundred meters south of the current location by Zen Master Ketsudogishun, who trained at Puji Temple. It is a temple of the Soto sect that is lined up in the four temples. The magnificent zelkova gate, the largest main hall in Hamamatsu city, and the vast precincts are impressive. The principal idol is Shakyamuni Buddha, and it is also the 23rd temple of the Totomi 49 Yakushi Sacred Ground.
After a break, Zen Master Yoshitoshi Jido opened "Jokoji Temple" near Cape Irago at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula for further missionary work.
There are many monuments such as Shiki Masaoka's monument in the west of the tower gate, as well as a monument to literary works, and you can enjoy it just by taking a walk in the wide precincts.
It is also said that Ieyasu, who was defeated from the Battle of Mikatagahara, escaped to Hachimangu via Tenrinji and hid in Okusu.
