Unmanned station of Jomo Electric Railway. Exchange trains on the island home. There are almost no shops around the station, just a drug store just a short walk away. There is no toilet.

Every time I traveled nearby, I thought it was an interesting station name, but I learned the origin from the fancy thing.
As there was Yasaka Shinto shrine which hid Ushido Tenno nearby, it seems to be a place name.
The Emperor Ushido seems somewhat stupid, but in fact it is the guardian deity of Gion Shuya, which the Buddha has enlightened.
I heard that this god was sent to Kyoto, so it became called Gion (^ _ ^

In the old days, the entrance to the station was not on the Fujien Tea Stall side but on the beauty salon side, and there was only a tiger fence standing on the width of the sleepers. There was a security device in Kamiizumi and it was amazing. There were more young passengers than they are now, and while the descent was approaching, they rushed into the four types of aisles and were whistleed by the driver. In front of Fujien Tea Stall, there used to be 4 types of double-tracked lines with a road width of about 3M, which was a reverse kamaboko type. In addition to this, when arriving downhill, Pan! ···Bread! The whistle rang like this.
There used to be a siding that branches off from Nishi-Kiryu in the current bicycle storage area. In the eyes of children, the strangeness of standing at a distance, with only the overhead wire pillars wide and the slope markers, even though there were no rails, really tickled my heart. It was a storage space for rails and sleepers.
Along with the departure reaction light, a cube-shaped movement prohibition signal sign light was installed behind the shed, but it is rarely used, and the red glass on the front and back sides is broken and the light bulb inside is exposed both up and down. Was.
In the past. There were many arrogant staff members who were willing to show their anger to the customers because of their strict adherence to regulations and duties. At the manned station, I sometimes heard loud voices such as "No!", "Please do XX", and "Outrageous!".
I think the student who had a grudge against the reception broke them.
Many employees would have taken such an attitude in an attempt to protect the platform as a railroad employee, the environment as a union member, and the business as a worker from fraud. In that respect, there have been no driving accidents except for disasters since the company was founded, and original amulet goods are also sold due to its auspiciousness.
1989. I was refraining from replacing the vehicle. Some of the relatively young crew members seemed to be interested in humans, which made children along the railway line more motivated to work in the future. In fact, I miss those days when I posted a poster for the recruitment of the current business.
At the Kiryu Yagibushi Festival, the conductor responds to a large number of customers
In order to do so, he hung his mouth on his shoulder with a cap and sold the car supplement ticket under a dimly lit lamp. Right hand? A thin, punch-perm conductor with his little finger outstretched. There was no expression and few words, but I felt that he was a gentle person because of the way he gave change and tickets. A metal whistle that hangs from the neck with a string. I was happy to ride the conductor in the actual car. Insert the ninja lock into the switch box to handle the door. Make sure to look at the other doors and then use your own door. Withdraw the face. The way the whistle was blown was different between going up and down.
I remember the scenery where the rush upbound was waiting for Akagi around 9 am. In winter, be careful of your departure and slowly leave for Akagi. The former Seibu 351 series turned to this, and I could see it well from the corridor window of the second building of Aioi Elementary School. Unlike now, there were many separations in Niisato and Nishi-Kiryu.
The above are all personal stories from the end of the Showa period.
