★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 加悦の街を見下ろす天満宮。明治36年に1000年祭を行ったというから、かなり歴史がある神社。しかしながら、もとは今の京丹後市の峰山町ニ箇にあり、その後四辻を経て安土桃山時代にこの地に移ってきた。
ほんとうは天満宮より重要なのが、天満宮より少し上がった天神山山頂にある吾姫神社。この神さまは天満宮以前から鎮座されていて、御祭神は「我野媛命(かやのひめのみこと)」。すなわち「加悦(かや)」の地名の由来となった神さま。
Tenmangu overlooking the city of Kaetsu. It is a shrine with a long history since it was said that the 1000th anniversary festival was held in 1897. However, it was originally located in Mineyama-cho, Kyotango City, and then moved to this area during the Azuchi-Momoyama period via Yotsuji.
What is really more important than Tenmangu is the Gohime Shrine on the summit of Mt. Tenjin, which is a little higher than Tenmangu. This god has been enshrined before Tenmangu, and the deity is "Kayanohime no Mikoto". In other words, the god who gave the place name "Kaya".
