傷害の疑いで書類送検されたのは、東近江市立玉緒小学校の土田善則教頭（５ ０）です。
発表によりますと土田善則教頭は２０１ ６年８月２２日午前１時ころ、彦根市のラーメン店で、３０代の知人男性と口論になり、男性の顔面をビールジョッキで殴りケガを負わせた疑いが持たれています。
土田善則教頭と男性は飲酒している際 「児童に体罰は必要か」で口論になったことで事件に発展したということです。
土田善則教頭は「暴力は絶対にダメ」が持論でした。
この事件で男性はビールジョッキで顔面を殴られたことで、全治３ヵ月の重傷を負いました。
