There was no detailed information on how much damage was done, such as the pre-earthquake cliffs, just because the thousand paper cranes were displayed, so I wish I had that information.

The number of victims in the city is 1,757 against a population of 24,246 (including missing persons, 7.2% of the population), second only to Ishinomaki City and the largest in Iwate Prefecture. The casualty rate for the tsunami inundation area population is 10.64%, which is the highest among the 37 municipalities along the coast of Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures.
