★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the best okinamayaki in Osaka here, we really enjoyed the okinamayaki with mochi in it. Nice staff, and the prices are really good. The restaurant had a nice homey feeling to it aswell. English menu available. Highly recommend this place :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like a previous reviewer, I too got the chef all to myself since I arrived right as she opened at 11. This was my first okonomiyake experience and I was fascinated by the process of making it. I got the Takara Special with mochi. I used my translator app to tell her that it looked complicated and she laughed. Thus began one of my favorite things in the world: the moment of understanding when communicating with someone who speaks a different language. We talked about concerts, food, travel, and tried not to talk about the current president of the US. I really enjoyed laughing with her and she eventually dragged her son out to help translate. They were both really great to talk to and the food was great! As it was my first okonomiyake, I have nothing else to compare it to but I very much enjoyed it. Being surrounded with good people makes the simple task of eating into actual nourishment. For the food and for the love that goes into it, I highly recommend Okonomiyaki Takara.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there a tuesday night. Almost no people so me and the wife got the chef all to ourselves. The okonomiyaki was great and we had great conversations and got a lot of advice for the rest of our stay in Osaka. 5 out of 5, would definitely visit again. Also very good prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Supergreat okonomiyaki, I took the one with pork, that was made on a griddle in front of us! And this place has a history. The chef's grandmother founded the place 51 years ago and now he has taken over. He was very nice and social with us and good at english! Really recommmend this place if you want to try some good okonomiyaki!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great hole in the wall! Came for an early dinner at 6pm. My sister and I were the only guests beside a couple of older ladies. We had the takara's yakisoba and takara's okonomiyaki. The food is subtle, the okonomiyaki and yakisoba isn't as fishy as other places, just the way I like it. I thought the yakisoba was amazing with the egg. The atmosphere was amazing, especially when the local older ladies were a bit buzzed and so they initiated conversation and we had a great time talking to them. Felt like we had a true glimpse of a local japanese neighborhood. The male staff can also speak conversational english and there is an english menu. Coming here on a whim was one of the best decisions I've made for the Japan trip.
