★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天平宝字元年(757年)に賢者仙人という人が開いたという伝承を持つ古いお寺。
もともとは大岡山の山岳神を祀る大岡神社の神宮寺であったので、山頂付近の大岡神社の側にあったが、近年になって麓の現在地に降りてきたようだ。
山門の仁王門が江戸時代の享保年間の建立のほか、豊岡市指定文化財の古文書があるらしいが、一見すると普通のお寺、のように見える。
もとの旧跡地には室町期の石組庭園が残っていて、国指定名勝庭園。

In addition to the construction of the Sanmon Niomon during the Kyoho period in the Edo period, it seems that there are ancient documents designated by Toyooka City, but at first glance it looks like an ordinary temple.
The stone garden of the Muromachi period remains on the original historic site, and it is a nationally designated scenic garden.
