新海三社神社の神宮寺の塔として建立され明治維新の排仏毀釈の際には神社の宝庫として破却をまぬがれた。
風鐸の銘により永正12年(1515)の建と考えられる。
様式は和様を主としながらも随所に禅宗様が取り入れられて居り、初重と二三重の垂木の方向の違いなどにそれが見られる。
Shinkai Shrine Mie Tower (Important Cultural Property)
It was erected as a shrine temple of Shinkai Sansha Shrine and was destroyed as a treasure house of the shrine during the Meiji Restoration.
It is believed that it was built in 1515, based on the name of Feng Teng.
Although the style is mainly Japanese style, Zen Buddhism is adopted everywhere, and it can be seen in the difference in the direction of Hatsushige and Futari rafters.
