★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Suwa lake as well as the area around it (including the Lakeside Park) is very beautiful in respects of nature: one can see many different species of birds, take a relaxing walk around the lake (3-4 hours), or just enjoy sitting quietly in the grass, feeling the fresh breeze from the lake (which the people living in Suwa also call "Suwa no umi", "the sea / ocean of Suwa"). Its also very recommendable to drink a coffee in one of the cafés or restaurants around the lake - some of them have walls of glass on the second level, enabling the customers to enjoy a nice view on the Suwa lake with the mountain panorama in the background.
In summer one can watch fireworks over the lake. All in all it is a very romantic and beautiful place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not too many staff you can do , but that's the main reason , it is a very good place to relax and smell fresh air without any distraction or just talk to your friends while having a cup of tea with the beautiful view of the lake , not mentioning that you can have a very nice photoshoots in that place with too many poses that you can imagine, if you are going to nagano or Matsumoto , don't miss visiting this place , it's worth it , it is 5 minutes walking from JR Kami-suwa station.
