★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I guess they don't want new customers? I had just recently visited this bank with the hope of opening a new bank account. I was greeted my an older man, who asked asked me what my purpose for opening an account was. so, I answered. He proceeded by giving me a lecture and asking me numerous questions like;
1. Where do you live?
2. Where do you work?
3. Why do you want a bank account here?
4. Where's your company office.
5.If you don't live close by here, you shouldn't
open an account here.
6. Why don't you go and open an account here ( just about equal distance from this branch to where I live now)
And so forth...
Aren't these questions reserved for the banking staff?
I got tired of his unwelcoming and interrogating approach to customer service and decided to give up.
On a separate occasion, when I opened my Yuucho Bank Account in Aoyama 1-chome, Tokyo (which was three hours from where I lived before), there were no questions asked. They were happy to accommodate me.
To conclude, I suggest you invest your money somewhere else.
