★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 薬祖神の少彦名命（すくなひこなのみこと）と大国主命（おおくにぬしのみこと）を祀る神社です。最初はなぜこの場所にこの神社があるのだろうと疑問に思ったのですが、「歴史の十字路まちしるべ 京町通」を読んでみたら、ここは安政２年（1855）の大火の後に、薬種問屋街になったと書いてありました。つまりここは江戸時代には（と言っても既に幕末ですが）大阪の道修町（どしょうまち）のような薬の原料となる薬草や薬種を扱う問屋街だったのです。その名残りかすぐ近くにはノーシンビルもあります。
実際、大阪の道修町にも少彦名神社があります。そしてそこには薬の博物館もあります。なかなか興味深い博物館でした。名古屋にもあったらよいですね。

At first I was wondering why this shrine is located in this place, but when I read "History Crossroads Town Shirube Kyomachi Dori", it was after the great fire of Ansei 2 (1855). It was written that it became a drug wholesaler district. In other words, in the Edo period (although it was already at the end of the Edo period), it was a wholesale district that handled medicinal herbs and medicines that are the raw materials for medicines, such as Doshomachi in Osaka. There is also Noshinville in or near its remnants.
In fact, there is also a small Hikomei Shrine in Doshu-cho, Osaka. And there is also a medicine museum. It was a very interesting museum. I hope it's also in Nagoya.

ちゃんと宗教法人登録されているらしく、祭りもあり、薬祖神社系と言うだけあって、近くの薬業健保会館で御朱印もいただけます。
後日いただきにいきました。
意外性で好印象。
