l	lili D on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cosy and beautiful hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Dinner was fantastic. But only one staff speaks some English. If she is not around, then use body language or guess!

The property itself is kept immaculately clean. Transportation to the city and touring is just around the corner. I would stay here over and over again if I could.

The ryokan is situated in a tranquil onsen town, Shuzenji, which is great for an escape from the hustle and bustle of a large city like Tokyo.

The town of Shuzenji is lovely and has a few very nice walks to offer. The food (supper and breakfast) was excellent and served in a private dining room.
T	Trip.com Member on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff's only aim is to please and make you feel totally at home. The hotel itself is pretty clean. The rooms have TV (we didn't turn it on so no idea of the stations) and ours had some Wifi but I think it was because we were close to the router.
A	Anna Pinsky on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service and attention to detail. Little extras that make a difference like free coffee and tea and cake on arrival. Just a few minutes walk from Shuzenji Onsen bus stop and to the main tourist area. Had breakfast which was traditional with foods from the local area and excellent value for money. Breakfast is serviced in a small room so that you can each with friends/family with privacy. Details explained in English and Japanese - including breakfast where they took the trouble to provide and printed explanation of each item in the meal in both languages. The staff also had excellent knowledge of buses and other connections so a good place to stay if you are planning to go to other parts of Izu on the same trip. The onsen / hot bath is relatively small but beautifully designed and includes a rotenburo.

The meals were exquisite and plentiful - on par with the Michelin star restaurants we ate at in Tokyo. The staff didn’t speak much English, but we were able to get by. Don’t forget to tip your assigned server (yen in an envelope), as this is the exception to the no-tipping norm in Japan.

The decor was beautiful, the atmosphere was amazing, the staff were professional and helpful, and the owner introduced himself and made us feel personally welcome! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and the best honeymoon we could ask for!
