★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shukugawa park is a great place for a picnic and to see the cherry blossoms when they are in season. There's a nice grocery store in Shukugawa station that has everything you need for a good picnic. Wine, beer, cheese, etc

During hanami it might be too crowded so try to go early in the morning for the view. For a picnic with drinks later on the afternoon is great as well

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best spots for Hanami (watching cherry blossoms) in Kobe/Ashiya. Shukugawa is a pretty long river and there are numerous trees along both sides of it. There are chairs, and also flat ground to sit and enjoy the river, Sakura trees and also the fresh air.
