★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石川理紀之助について詳しく知ることが出来ます。資料館の奥は、当時の建築物が大切に残されています。なお、もっと山の奥に行くと、理紀之助が若い頃過ごしていた「草木谷」という建築物があります。潟上市の偉人といってもいい理紀之助のことは、ここで知ることができます。

伝習館の裏山も散策出来、翁の終の住処となった尚庵なども見ることが出来ます。
それにしても石川翁って凄いお方ですね。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石川翁は農村の救済と農業振興にその生涯を捧げ、「聖農」と言われた人だということは知っていたのですが、この伝承館を見学して、そのすごさを実感することができました。
土地勘がないと場所が分かりにくいのが難点。
料金は270円で休館日は基本月曜日です。
建物は1階が駐車場、2階が受付＆展示室となっており、3階から外に出て石川翁の遺跡を見学して回るという変則的な構造になっています。
3階の外に出て見える田園風景も良かったです。
すぐ近くに石川翁の子孫が住んでおり、「草木谷を守る会」という名で里山と八郎湖の環境保全活動をしています。
