★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昇仙峡な着いた時は雨が上がっていましたが、道は濡れていて歩くの気をつけていました。仙娥滝は水量があって見ごたえごありました。
 It was raining when I arrived at Shosenkyo, but the road was wet and I was careful to walk. Senga Falls had a lot of water and was impressive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 去年初めてここに来るまで、影絵というのがこんなにも魅力的な物だとは知らなかった。印刷物やテレビで見るのと違って、生で見る影絵は独特な世界に連れて行ってくれる。売店で好きな影絵のポスターを買おうかと思ったが、実物と印刷物とでは天と地ほどの差があったので、きっとまた実物を見にここに来ると思う。紅葉シーズンとかだと昇仙峡が混んでて大変なので、オフシーズンを狙います。ちなみに今回は貸し切り状態でゆっくり見られました。
Until I came here for the first time last year, I didn't know that shadow puppets were such a fascinating thing. Unlike what you see on print or on TV, the shadow puppets you see live take you to a unique world. I thought I would buy a poster of my favorite shadow play at the shop, but there was a difference between the real thing and the printed matter as much as heaven and earth, so I'm sure I will come here again to see the real thing. The autumn leaves season is difficult because Shosenkyo is crowded, so I'm aiming for the off-season. By the way, this time it was seen slowly in a chartered state.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I walked all the way uphill for this museum. 藤城清治’s shadow painting is truly spectacular and an amazing art to fall in love with, and to reflect on life. I do agree with other visitors that this alone could stand as an museum itself, and that the addition of other artists work could be distracting. (Photos aren’t allowed!)
They have a good souvenir shop as well, which sell nice postcards, posters, calendars and stuff. A complimentary drink is also offered after the visit (the honey is amazing!)
It would be great to plan the museum as your last stop and to take the bus from the museum to return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum was simple but the art was amazing. They displayed pieces that resembled legend of Zelda Shadow puppets with a murderous evil story teller vibe yet cute and whimsical. They also had several classic Japanese art pieces and their gift section was extremely large. Only reason I marked down was due to how large the gift section was compared to the museum itself.
