前方後円墳ですが、残念な事に東半分が削られ原形が損なわれています?

埋葬者は、尾張氏首長と考えられている。
伝承ではこの古墳は日本武尊（やまとたけるのみこと）の陵とされている。
これは、能褒野（のぼの）に葬られてのち白鳥となった日本武尊が当地に降り立ったという伝承に基づく。（ウィキペディアより）

古墳西側には拝所があり、日中もほとんど人影がない静かな場所だ。
ヤマトタケルは第12代景行天皇の皇子で、武勇でその名を知られている。大和朝廷全国統一のために命令を受け西方と東方に遠征、勝利を収めたが、帰途に伊勢の能褒野で没した。
ヤマトタケル伝説は各地にあり、ヤマトタケルゆかりの墓として三重県亀山市に能褒野王塚古墳、大阪府羽曳野市・奈良県御所市に白鳥陵古墳がある。
A mound with a length of 74 m, which is estimated as the beginning of the 6th century.
The burial is believed to be Mr. Owari.
According to the tradition, this tumulus is a tomb of Nihon Taketoshi.

There is a place of worship on the west side of the tomb, and it is a quiet place with almost no people during the day.
Yamato Takeru is the prince of the 12th Emperor Kageyuki, and is known for his courage. He received an order to unify the whole nation of the Yamato Imperial Court and traveled to the west and east to win the victory, but on the way back, he died in Noseno, Ise.
The legend of Yamato Takeru is found in various places, and there are Notono Otsuka Kofun in Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture, and Shiratori Kofun in Habino City, Osaka Prefecture and Gosho City, Nara Prefecture as tombs related to Yamato Takeru.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 古来、日本武尊陵と伝承され、白鳥御陵と呼ばれてきましたが、近くの断夫山古墳と同じくこの古墳も、尾張氏に関係する方の墳墓と思われます。前方後円墳の墓だったらしいですが、削り取られて原型をとどめていません。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 名古屋市熱田区にある白鳥古墳は、6世紀初頭に築造された前方後円墳で、日本武尊の墓としての伝説がある。法持寺のすぐ隣に位置していて、かつては法持寺が管理していたが、1876年(明治9年)からは熱田神宮に、戦後は名古屋市に管理が移された。同じく公園になっている場所にありますが、断夫山古墳よりひっそりとしていますね。
The Shiratori Tumulus, located in Atsuta-ku, Nagoya, is a front-rear burial mound built in the early 6th century and has a legend as the tomb of Takeru Nihon. Located right next to Hojiji Temple, it was once managed by Hojiji Temple, but from 1876 (Meiji 9) it was moved to Atsuta Jingu, and after the war it was moved to Nagoya City. It's also in a park, but it's quieter than the Danpusan Kofun.

管理者:法持寺～戦前/熱田神宮～戦後/名古屋市なのに、四方が削られて殆ど原形を留めてないのは少し残念ですね?
名古屋市の中心部市街地に、熱田神宮と縁深い白鳥古墳・断夫山古墳が領域として残されているのは貴重ですね‼️
