★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 東林山明仙童寺真如院。現在は天台宗の寺院だが、かつては数院を擁する天台宗の寺院でした。明仙童寺は、吉備津神社五摂社の第一にあげられる新宮社の別当寺。
文献などから、室町末期にもっとも隆盛であったと推定され、吉備津神社の社僧寺の中でも有力な寺院であったと思われます。
本尊の阿弥陀如来像(岡山県重要文化財)は小さな寄せ木造りで内部に宝治2(1248)年の墨書銘、結縁衆として賀陽髙親の名前があり備中吉備津宮の神主・賀陽氏の菩提寺であったと考えられている。山門の南側には、俊乗房重源の｢南無阿弥陀仏作善集｣にある｢庭瀬堂｣があり、丈六(約5ｍ)の阿弥陀像が奉安されていた。背後の山裾には、竜山石で造られた組み立て式石棺の底石が立てられている。

The main image of Amida Nyorai (Important Cultural Property of Okayama Prefecture) is made of small parquet and has an inscription inscribed in Houji 2 (1248) inside, and has the name of Kayo Takachika as a relative. It is believed that it was. On the south side of the mountain gate, there was "Niwase-do" in "Namu Amida Buddha Sakuzenshu" by Chogen Shunjo, and the statue of Amida of Joroku (about 5m) was enshrined. At the hem of the mountain behind, the bottom stone of a prefabricated sarcophagus made of Tatsuyama stone is erected.
