★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 約３０年振りに訪れました。でも昔の写真と比べて見ましたがあまり変わっていませんでした。
上小地区では2基ある前方後円墳系の古墳の内のひとつです。
全長約51m、後円部39m、高さ5.7m、前方部幅20m、高さ2m。神社の造営により削平されています。前方後円墳系の帆立貝式古墳に分類されています。
長野県内では帆立貝式古墳は、数基あるのですが、その中では最大級の帆立貝式古墳になります。
内部構造は不明で、葺石及び円筒埴輪、周濠の確認もされていません。
今日の見学で土器片らしき、かけらが転がっていましたが定かでありません。
 I visited there for about 30 years. But compared with the old picture, I saw it, but it did not change so much.
In the small area, it is one of two ancient burial mounds of the forward and backward keyhole-shaped tomb.
A total length of about 51 m, a rear circle part 39 m, a height 5.7 m, a front part width 20 m, a height 2 m. It is flattened by the shrine's construction. It is classified as a scallop shell type tumulus of a forward and backward key mound type.
In Nagano prefecture there are several scallop shell type tumuli, but among them, it is the largest scallop-type ancient tomb.
The internal structure is unknown, and there are also no confirmation of stone and cylinder clay rings, circumference moat.
It seems like a piece of earthenware in a visit today, the piece was rolling but it is not clear.
