浄土真宗本願寺派。文禄年間(1592～95)創建と考えられるが、江戸時代中期には無住に近い寺であったという。享保5年(1720)伊予藩家老の子であった月秀が、母の意に従い当寺に入って盛んにし、中興の祖とよばれている。
Evolution
Jodo Shinshu Honganji school. It is thought to have been built during the Bunroku era (1592-95), but it is said that it was a nearly non-resident temple in the middle of the Edo period. Tsukihide, a child of the Iyo feudal lord in 1720, entered the temple according to his mother's will and became popular, and is called the ancestor of Chuko.
