If you're based in Hachinone it takes about 2-3 hrs and you need to change buses, and from Gonohe they only go a few times per day (do check in with the Hachinohe tourist information at Hachinohe eki, they're very helpful!). Try the garlic ice-cream they sell there, it's awesome. If you drive by car you can also visit the ancient pyramid.

It is quite small and the fountain at the bottom seemed in disrepair. Overall it was interesting but not somewhere you would spend more than about 30 minutes.
W	Wouter on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to the tomb of Christ in Aomori some 2 weeks ago: the visitor center was closed but you can still climb the hill and visit the tomb. There was a lot of snow during this time of year and the pathway was not cleared. I thought it was a very eerie place, especially if you go there alone. You can reach the tomb by bus from Gonohe (take a bus in the direction of Kanegasaki: once there there's a shuttle bus can take you to the tomb). If you're based in Hachinohe I recommend going to the tourist information center on the first floor of Hachinohe station: they can give you all the details in english.
