★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 主郭まではアッサリ行けます。その先の竹藪に土塁や堀切があります。魅力的な城跡です。

場所は国道301号線から脇道に入った所に有り
ます。
駐車場は有りませんが田代城跡案内図の道が
広くなっていて車を止める事が出来ます。
無断駐車禁止などの張り紙など有りませんので
安心して止めて下さい。
上に登った感想ですが、上は手入れが行き届いて無くちょっと残念な所が有ります。
ちゃんと手入れしたらいい感じの城跡になると
思いました。

【歴史】 築城時期など詳細は不明だが、『三河国二葉松』には、城主として森外記、松平主税或甚五左衛門の名が挙げられている。
『東照軍鑑』には、天文年間（１５５０年頃）の事として駿河の今川氏が竹千代(家康)などを田代城へ出兵させ、松平道久を攻め降したと記されている。
天正二年（１５７４年）四月、甲斐の武田軍に攻め落とされた(元亀二年（１５７１年）とする説もある)。『下山村教育委員会説明板』より。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 以前は主郭までの道も整備されていたようですが、道を補強していたコンクリートも割れ、草木も伸び放題で見学は困難な状態でした。遺構が良く残った城趾のようですので、整備を望みます。
