In the entryway, you can watch a video about Shiko Munakata. It's all in Japanese but you will still enjoy it even if you don't understand what's being said. You can watch the incredible energy that he brings to every print. The gallery itself is small, but Munakata wanted it this way so everyone can take their time viewing every work of art. They have seats so you can study the larger paintings from a distance. I spent about an hour here but you can easily spend more. There is also a great cafe and bakery across the street to go for lunch. I think this is one of Aomori's finest museums! A must see if you visit Aomori City!
