お店の前は田んぼが広がりとても眺めが良かったです。 ざる蕎麦大盛りとおろしうどんをいただきました。 初めてアンニンゴの天麩羅、アンボを単品で頼んで食べてみました。美味しかったです。
The rice fields spread out in front of the shop and the view was very good. I had a large serving of Zaru soba and grated udon noodles. For the first time, I ordered Anningo's tempura and Ambo as a single item and tried it. It was delicious.

お米を取りに魚沼に来た際に立ち寄りました。 15時にも関わらずお客さんが何組も入ってこられました。 建物は200年前のものを改装したそうです。
I stopped by when I came to Uonuma to pick up rice. Even though it was 15:00, many groups of customers came in. The building is said to have been renovated from 200 years ago.

田んぼの中に派手なのぼりがヒラヒラ ついつい引き込まれます(笑) 鹿小屋定食を注文しました。 美味しかったなぁ。 蕎麦は地方の個性がでるので、私の好みとは合わなかった。蕎麦の風味も出汁の香りも主張が強くない。越後一の寺、雲洞庵が近くにありこの辺りで採れた米を魚沼産コシヒカリの中の雲洞產コシヒカリと呼ぶらしい? 米は大変甘く美味しかったです。残念だったのは古米が混ざっていたのか、洗いすぎたのかしりませんが、米が潰れていた件。 こちらの地方ではこの様な炊き方がスタンダードなのかも知れません、何故なら他の方のご飯の写真をみてもみな同じだからです。 山菜天ぷらもニシンの山椒漬けもフキもワラビも大変美味しかったです。 次回はかじか酒を呑みたいです。

Unto-an, the first temple in Echigo, is nearby, and it seems that the rice harvested around here is called Unto Koshihikari in Koshihikari from Uonuma. The rice was very sweet and delicious. It was a pity that the rice was crushed, although it may have been mixed with old rice or washed too much. This kind of cooking may be the standard in this region, because all the pictures of other people's rice are the same. The edible wild plants tempura, herring pickled in Japanese pepper, butterbur and bracken were all very delicious. Next time, I'd like to drink sculpin or sake.

坂戸山と圧倒的な田園風景。朝取りの美味しいお野菜も販売しています。 南魚沼の美味しい漬物、煮物料理を堪能させていただきました。なんといっても素晴らしいのは、お店の方々の優しい心遣い。何回でも来たくなるお店です。

This is a must go for all visitors to the area. An old farmhouse, converted to a restaurant 22 years ago. The menu offers soba and rice that is grown locally. It's a cosy restaurant with a large dining area in a typical Japanese style (tatami mats and seating on the ground). Sevice is very friendly and family oriented. A must go for international visitors who want to experience Japan.
