★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 子供も大人も楽しめる施設です。プラネタリウム鑑賞時に職員さんの司会が入りますが職員さん毎にテーマが異なり何度行っても飽きません。ただし、施設自体は大きくないので展示物とプラネタリウム全部見て1時間〜一時間30分と言う所でしょうか。
駐車場は無料、駐車場から入口まではやや距離が有り日陰が少ないので真夏は辛いです。
トイレは広くて小さなお子さん連れでも問題無しです。ただ、学問的な展示になるので未就学児の場合、好き嫌い分かれそうです。
日曜日の昼頃は仙台方面から行くと近くのショッピングモールが混むので渋滞に当たります。
 It is a facility that both children and adults can enjoy. The staff will be the moderator when watching the planetarium, but the theme is different for each staff and you will not get bored no matter how many times you go. However, the facility itself is not large, so it takes 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes to see all the exhibits and planetarium.
The parking lot is free, and there is a little distance from the parking lot to the entrance and there is little shade, so it is hard in midsummer.
The toilet is large and there is no problem even with small children. However, since it will be an academic exhibition, preschoolers may like it or not.
If you go from Sendai around noon on Sunday, the nearby shopping malls will be crowded and you will be in a traffic jam.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this observatory on 2020/12/26. Was able to watch the 18:00 hrs musical show in the planetarium area. ( ¥1000)
However, we were disappointed that all the other parts of this place were already closed. We did call the reception during daytime and they confirmed beforehand that the observatory will be open till 9:30 PM. This, as per our understanding, was not a clear communication at all. The one on the call didn’t mention that only a single part of the observatory (the last planetarium show at 18:00)would be open. (Which they should have informed clearly). We felt it a waste of effort because we came from the Tohoku region, made a stop at Sendai just to watch the observatory, and then go towards Tokyo.
These days,due to Covid or any other circumstances, timings do differ. This is absolutely normal. But a clear communication is expected from the reception desk at least. I give this a 2/5 rating only because of this management related issues.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful, educational exhibits! Just so you know there are no English translations. I had fun and used Google translate ? it is definitely worth your time. It also has a nice planetarium show. Not in English but I enjoyed it regardless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The movie was so fantastic but all story was explained in Japanese. The astronomy exhibition also in Japanese. It was so difficult to understand. You can go here by bus from Sendai Station at bus stop number 63.
