The knives here are fantastic in quality and price. The only drawback is they speak very limited English. It looks like there is also a knife sharpening class there.

It's quite difficult to go there by train, but it is a great museum if you are into sword and swordsmith. It delivered perfectly everything advertised, from beautiful sword to explaining every associated craft and technique. Entry rates are low, and the it takes about 1-2h to see everything. I advise to not go there a sunday, as every cutlery shops around will be closed.

The Seki Swordsmith Museum offers a relatively small collection on the traditional method of forging swords, a practice for which Seki was famous in the periods where katana were needed in large numbers. Besides the descriptive part, the museum also features a plethora of swords which were made in between the 14th and 20th century. For me it was beautiful to see actual nihonto, and then ancient ones on top of that, still in perfect condition. I spent a lot of time just looking at the swords. Otherwise it's a pretty small exhibition overall.

Really enjoyed this museum. Surprisingly well planned out and English explanations to accompany Japanese. Set on two floors taking you through the history of Sword making in the area. Whether you’re into swords or not, you’re likely to enjoy. Around one hour to 90 minutes is ideal.

Fun, informative, and well thought museum. Learned about the history of swords, and saw old and new swords. Nearby the Cutlery Hall shop and Feather brand museum.

There is more to creating a Katana then you might imagine. Fascinating history.
