★ ★ ★ ★ ★ りんご畑が広がる集落内の狭い道をたどり、鳥居をくぐり拝殿前に駐車する。本殿は国指定重要文化財、覆屋の中で普段は見ることはできない。地元保存会が休日祝日公開しているむねの案内が表示されていた。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 佐久間象山について調べていたら山ノ内町との縁が深かったらしく、佐野神社では佐久間象山直筆の大幟が今も秋祭りで掲げられているそうです。
境内は雑草や落ち葉など無く、手入れがきちんとさらており、地域で大切にされている様子がうかがえました。
キリリとした空気を感じました。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 佐野神社は、1908（明治41）年に、それまでの旧飯綱社の境内に明治政府の神社に関する太政官令に沿う形で、佐野村にあった神諏訪社、下諏訪社、飯綱社、笠岳（笠嶽）社を合祀して創建されました。日露戦争の勝利によって日本の国家意識が高揚した動きに連動したのかもしれません。神社に関する太政官令は、大和王権と直結する伊勢神宮などを頂点とするヒエラルヒーに全国の神社を組み込み国家神道思想を普及させるための法令です。
この郷士による佐野神社創建によって、上記４社の本殿は佐野神社に遷座移管されたり、別の神社の本殿に移設されてしまいました。こうして、佐野村に古くからあった各神社はその歴史や文物の継承、境内遺構を断たれてしまったそうです。
とはいえ、飯綱神社の本殿と下諏訪社本殿（天正年間の作で桃山時代の造り）と飯綱社本殿は佐野神社の鉄筋コンクリート製の覆い屋のなかに保存されています。
In 1908 (Meiji 41), Sano Shrine was located in Sano Village in accordance with the Daijo-kan Ordinance on the shrines of the Meiji government in the precincts of the former Iizuna Shrine. It was built by enshrining (Kasatake) company. It may have been linked to the movement that raised Japan's national consciousness due to the victory of the Russo-Japanese War. The Daijo-kan Ordinance on Shrines is a decree to incorporate shrines nationwide into the hierarchy of Ise Jingu, which is directly connected to the Yamato Kingship, and to spread the idea of State Shinto.
Due to the construction of Sano Shrine by this villager, the main shrines of the above four companies were relocated to Sano Shrine or moved to another shrine. In this way, each shrine that has existed in Sano Village for a long time seems to have been cut off from its history, inheritance of cultural artifacts, and the remains of the precincts.
However, the main shrine of Iizuna Shrine, Shimosuwa Shrine (made in the Tensho era and built in the Momoyama period) and Iizuna Shrine are preserved in the reinforced concrete cover shop of Sano Shrine.
