It is worthwhile to come to Sanjo City for this purpose. There are various techniques to hit the heated iron, and I will be passionate about everything including the subsequent polishing. The craftsman will teach you every work carefully.

A	Admiral, ArmChair Fleet on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was the highlight of our trip to Japan as it is more exciting 'To Do Something' than to watch a tree or a castle (I meant that it's nice but nothing like making something). There is this one guy that speaks English! They are experts. You basically go thru all the steps to convert a nail to a letter opener (Knife) from foundry to polish. Too much fun. Definitely a repeat trip.

It took us about 1 hour to turn an iron nail into a beautiful work of art. The staff were very helpful and friendly. To benefit from the full experience, it is best if you can speak basic Japanese. This experience made us have a lot of respect for these craftsmen.

Will be good if you understand some basic Japanese, but even if you don't, the demonstrations and guidance from the teacher will allow you to master this workshop. I have a lot of respect for this craft after the experience. Took the two of us a little over 1.5hrs in total to make a paper knife each.

It was my first time making a knife and it was so much fun even for beginners (me and my friend both came here for the first time with no experience)! The teacher is very experienced (you can tell by the way he handles the material and the different sounds the ‘smashing’ makes when he hit the knife during cutlery. Safety equipment is provided and the teacher is patient if you are not very good; he will show you again ☺️. At the end you can keep the knife you crafted as souvenir; awesome! You are free to take pictures ? and there is a small exhibit where you can admire some of the crafted tools. A free locker is provided (big size) where you can put your bag/purse/coat. I definitely recommend this place! Oh! It last for about 1 hours ✨
