珊瑚橋は古い橋で車がすれ違うギリギリの幅
数年前に補強工事が終わり、お色直しも完了。
夏の花火大会には橋の幅いっぱいに花火を設置して、ナイアガラの滝という仕掛け花火の舞台になります。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昭和8年7月に鉄骨をリベットでつなぐ工法で黒沢尻町の川岸と立花地区とつなぐ北上川を渡す橋として造られている。その後車の発達に伴い幅が狭いので歩道専用の橋が付け加えられているこの時期の工事はボルトで鉄骨を繋いである。つり橋の形をしています。
錆びない様にペンキが当初の色とは違い黄色に変わって塗られています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 直線的ゲルバー橋ですが、歴史と温かさが感じられる橋。桜の名所・展勝地や北上川に架かる鯉のぼりへの景観は見事ですが、その時期は車の通行が制限されます
