殿様が登城のとき、衣服を改めた上で坂を過ぎるまでに新しく召し抱えた者が追いつけなかったときは，遅刻の罰金として三百文を出させました。このことから、「三貊坂」と呼ばれていた坂が「三百坂」に呼び変えられるようになったそうです。
