★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was as ALT there several times between 2001 and 2011. Not the best lot of students, but from the neighbourhood, not a surprise. Although the teachers constantly change in the Japanese public school system, the teachers at the time were good. However, at the same time I was teaching there, I also had to go to Yatomi and Wada elementary school, which is way too far to walk. Nambu chu has school bicycles, but they would not let me use one to ride to the elementary schools, even though I would be able to return it the same day. So, I had to ride my bicycle all the way from Nishishizu, which took an hour and a half and leave it at the school. So, I no longer had a bicycle at home for the three months that I taught there. Not very helpful principal or vice-principal for sure at that time.
