西蓮寺は国内でも指折りの野百合の自生地に隣接する寺院で、東の高野山とも呼ばれる寺院です。

Sairenji is a temple adjacent to the hometown of Noyuri, one of the best in Japan, and is also called Koyasan in the east.

旧行方郡の８つある指定の１つ。現在の行方市にある５つの内の１つです。
西浦から少し入りますが、サイクリング「カスイチ」の際には是非寄っていただきたいです。
旧行方郡には、他に「水郷潮来」「水郷麻生」「高須崎の一本松」「水郷牛堀」「桃浦」「観音馬場」「化蘇沼稲荷」が茨城百景として指定されています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昭和25年、茨城県観光審議会が選定した100の景勝地のひとつ。西蓮寺はここから西方900メートルほど先となりますが、もちろん見えませんし、碑のある場所が風光明媚にして絶景というにはほど遠い・・・茨城百景の碑の場所は往々にして、なぜここにと思う場所だったりしますね。石碑の傍らには石仏と謎の建物（元・バス停の脇の待合所しては小さいです）がありました。
One of the 100 scenic spots selected by the Ibaraki Prefecture Tourism Council in 1950. Sairenji is about 900 meters west of here, but of course you can't see it, and the place where the monument is located is far from scenic and spectacular ... The place of the monument of 100 views of Ibaraki is often here. It's a place I think Ibaraki. Beside the stone monument was a stone Buddha statue and a mysterious building (a small waiting area beside the former bus stop).
