階段を上ると左手に立派な保存樹があり、その幹の逞しさに感動。
六社神社の祭神はオオクニヌシ、スサノウ、イザナギ、二ニギ、オオミヤメ、フルタマの六神であり、当神社は今より800年前に頼朝の功臣葛西三郎が造営したそうです。境内には本殿、拝殿の他、天満宮、安房栖神社、戦没者慰霊の碑、五穀豊穣を願った御神木が祀られています。
