★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 南側にしか改札がなく駅内踏切が閉まってしまうと犬山方面では乗車出来ないので注意が必要です。そもそも、駆け込み乗車はやめて欲しいし時間に余裕を持って下さい。車椅子なら尚更です。
尚、2019年1月現在では、昼間でも15分間隔で電車はありますけど。
理由としては、名鉄各務原線の駅は基本的に犬山行き（方面）が北側で、名鉄岐阜行きは南側にホームがあり、改札も両側にありますが後述と同じ例外駅に当たります。
（細畑駅は高架ホーム、新鵜沼駅は特急の始発・終着の関係のターミナル、三柿野駅は島式ホーム（特急が停車する例もあり）なので同様な例外ですが。）
ただ、この駅に関しては改札が南側にしかなくホーム東側に駅内の踏切があります。
周辺道路も狭く歩道も申し訳程度で自転車でも通行しにくい上に自動車が待機する場所はないに等しいですし、有料自転車置場だけは放置自転車がある他の駅よりは評価出来ますが、北側からだと2回踏切に行くと言う事になるので、周辺も含めた駅構造上での道路・踏切事故の危険度面でも評価を低めにしています。
更にはホーム内のトイレ清掃係が大便スペースのドアの音で脅すなど暴力的です。
