東京都心から北上すると越谷・春日部間の断続渋滞を抜けた所にあるので早めの休憩をするのに丁度いいです。
田園風景の中に「庄和」と描かれた大凧とクレヨンしんちゃんの看板が出迎えてくれます。
周りに広大な農地広がっているだけあり、野菜なら長葱や小松菜、果物だとイチゴ、そしてお米と農産物が豊富です。他には4号バイパス沿いの道の駅らしく宇都宮餃子や東北のお土産なども少しだけ並んでいました。
また、別棟にあるフードコートのうどん屋「麦ぼうず」の「けんちんうどん」は鶏団子と野菜がたっぷり入った塩仕立てのスープが美味しいのでオススメです。

There is only a vast agricultural land around, and there are abundant vegetables such as Japanese mustard spinach and Japanese mustard spinach, fruits such as strawberries, and rice and agricultural products. Besides, Utsunomiya dumplings and souvenirs from Tohoku were lined up a little like a roadside station along the No. 4 bypass.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 春日部にいちご狩りの取材に行き、昼食に寄った道の駅庄和。
事前に調べたところ、麦ぼうずといううどん屋さんの評判良く、埼玉の一地域(川島町)の郷土料理「すったてうどん」を知り、これは取材を兼ねて食べねば!と初訪問。
春日部は、クレヨンしんちゃんで全国区になったからであろう。
クレヨンしんちゃんが道の駅のキャラクターになっているところが好ましい。
早速、すったてうどんを食べてみる。
秩父のくるみうどんも、「なるほど!郷土食」と感じたが、くるみの甘さが私的には、うどんとのコラボがいまいちで、
今回のすったてうどんは、味わい深く、おいしい!
ちなみに、すり鉢に入ったねぎやごまを自分好みに擦って、そこに、だし汁を入れて、うどんを(そばとのあいもりにしたが、うどんの方が食感もよい)つけて食べるのが正式のようだ。
同伴のカメラマン、つけ汁に擦ったごまたちを入れて、ドプドプ状態のうどんつゆにうどんを入れていたが、
ごまとつけ汁状態を自分好みにしながら、うどんを楽しむと、様々な味わいを堪能できる。
ドアや店前の席にて食事をしている人が多かったが、奥の席は人がまばらだったので、奥の席で食事をした。
(もちろん、消毒液持参で、念入りにテーブルを拭いた)
風が強く、窓がしまっていたが、空気清浄機がおいてあった。
とはいえ、感染対策には換気が重要なので、他の人の迷惑にならない程度に窓を開けて食事をした。
※「すったて」とは、「すりたて」がなまったもの。その名のとおり、すり鉢にタマネギや大葉、キュウリ、ミョウガなどを入れ、よくすりつぶしてから味噌を混ぜ、井戸水で溶いた汁で食べたのが由来。
昔は普段の料理にいりこや昆布のだしは高級であったろう。しかし、それを必要としないほど、野菜のうま味がぎゅっと詰まっていて美味である。

By the way, it is official to rub the onions and sesame in a mortar to your liking, put the soup stock in it, and add udon (I made it with soba, but udon has a better texture) and eat it. it seems like.

You can enjoy various flavors by enjoying udon while making your own taste of sesame and soup.
Many people were eating at the door or in front of the store, but the back seats were sparsely populated, so I ate in the back seats.

The wind was strong and the windows were closed, but there was an air purifier.
However, ventilation is important for infection control, so I opened the window and ate so as not to bother other people.
* "Sudden" means "freshly squeezed". As the name suggests, it is derived from putting onions, perilla, cucumber, Japanese ginger, etc. in a mortar, mashing them well, mixing them with miso, and eating them with soup dissolved in well water.
In the olden days, sardines and kelp soup stock would have been high-class in everyday cooking. However, the umami of the vegetables is so tight that it is not necessary.
