Y	Yasuharu OISHI on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 説明書よりーーー西湖山林香寺臨済宗妙心寺派所在地由比町東山寺平三八鎌倉時代、宋より帰化した九英禅師の開基と伝えられる。慶長十四年(一六〇九)、駿府に隠居した徳川家康が、由比山での鷹狩の帰途、寺に立ち寄り冷水を所望したところ、住職天倫和尚が湯呑の水に山椒を浮かべ差し上げたところ、その香りを賞で、山椒の献上を命じ、十三石一斗余の朱印地を下賜された。以来明治三年まで、山椒の実は駿府と江戸に献上され、林香寺は山門大いに栄え、近隣の名刹となった。当時の山門は、江戸時代初期の建造ながら桃山時代の作風を伝える清楚な風格を備えた切妻四脚門で、町文化財に指定されている。裏庭の楠の立木に、仏師中丸奥堂によって聖観世音菩薩像が彫刻されている。生木の樹肌に刻未れた仏像は、やがて胎内仏となるであろう。平成五年三月由比町教育委員会 From the instructions --- Saiko Sanrinkoji Temple Rinzai Sect Myoshinji Temple Location Yuicho Higashiyamadera Taira Sanpachi It is said that the founder of the Kyuei Zen Master, who was naturalized from Song during the Kamakura period. The Sanmon at that time was a gabled four-legged gate with a neat style that conveys the style of the Momoyama period while being built in the early Edo period, and is designated as a town cultural property. A statue of the Holy Kanzeon Bodhisattva is carved by the Buddhist priest Nakamaru Okudo on the standing tree of the camphor tree in the backyard.
