★ ★ ★ ★ ★ かつて此処に江戸城の城門があったそうです。将軍が寛永寺や東照宮に行くための御成道に位置するため、警備は重要であったそうです。ここに残っているのは城門石垣の一部だそうです。
It seems that there used to be the gate of Edo Castle here. It seems that security was important because the shogun is on the Onari road to reach Kanei-ji and Toshogu. It seems that only a part of the castle gate Ishigaki remains here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 江戸三十六ヶ見附がひとつ。近くの橋から護岸壁に見える石垣がそれではないかと思うが，良く調べていないので，確信はない。
やはり見附としては，牛込見附のものが最も保存状態が良いのではないかと思う。
One is Edo 36 Kamitsuke. I suspect that the stone wall that can be seen from the nearby bridge on the revetment wall is that, but I'm not sure because I haven't examined it well.
As for Mitsuke, I think that Ushigome Mitsuke is the best preserved.
