f	fumin burnin' (不眠の番人) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 玉比咩神社の境内にあるご神体の巨岩です。元々は現在よりも丸みを帯びた石だったと伝えられており、玉石と呼ばれていました。これが神社のある玉地区の地名の興りになったとも考えられているそうです。かつては神社付近まで海岸が伸びて来ていたので、浸食されて現在のようになったようです。別名で立石という呼び方もあり、この影響か神社のある玉地区には立石という苗字の方が多くおられます。この石から三つの火の玉が飛び出たという伝説があり、それぞれ神社の裏山、岡山市の西大寺観音院、瀬戸内市牛窓町の辺りに落ちたのだとか。火の玉が落ちたとされる神社の裏山の辺りは臥竜稲荷神社奥宮になっており、玉比咩神社の元々の所在地だったそうです。かつては堀に囲まれていましたが、現在はじかに触れられるように小さな橋が架けられています。 It is a giant rock of the gods in the grounds of Tamahi Shrine. The area behind the back mountain of the shrine where fireballs are said to have fallen is the Oryu Shrine of the Inari Shrine, and it was the original location of the Tamahi Shrine. It used to be surrounded by moats, but now a small bridge is built so that you can directly touch it.
