Exceptional old school metal shop!

My boyfriend and I had a hard time looking for Record BOY at first, somehow the Google Street View was showing the back of Koenji building so we weren't sure if we were at the right place. I even asked the staff on the Rugged store if he knew where Record BOY is, I mean, he works in the area, so he must have heard of it, right? I gave him the address and when he looked it up on his phone, he said that the place is located on the other station. I told my boyfriend about it but he insisted that we were in the right place and we just need to look closer. We checked again the Record BOY map that was provided on the store's website and we were still clueless on where the Softbank store--the landmark to look for! Lol. We came from the dark, residential street as we were following the direction from Google and there was no Softbank store that we'd passed by. Anyway, my boyfriend checked the Koenji Pal Shopping Street besides us and behold, the Softbank was the shop at that very corner, it was just beside us! We didn't see it as the shop was already close at that time and its name sign is facing the Koenji Pal Shopping Street! Anyway, the entrance to the Koenji Building 303 is on the right side of that Softbank store. You will see a floor sign stand of Saizeriya (サイゼリヤ), an Italian restaurant, on the right side of the entrance. You will also see an Information sign by the entrance where it listed the name of the shops and what floors they are on that building but no name of Record BOY store listed there. If you go inside the building, you will see a printed paper of Record BOY's information with a handwritten 3F on it that was taped on the left side of the entrance wall. Go to the third floor of that building and at the very end of it is the Record BOY store! --- The shop is small but has a nice collection of punk and metal records. My boyfriend bought the Sabbat/Paganfire split LP for $18 here as it was not distributed in the US. The shop sells a lot of new metal vinyls and some used records. It also sells some exclusive records, available only in Record BOY! -- Note: (1)Don't go wandering in the residential street and instead walk in the Koenji Pal Shopping Street to find that Softbank store, it's a lot easier to see it from the shopping street! (2) This shop is a 3-minute walk from Koenji Station (高円寺駅)--if you know where you're going. Lol. (3)I also just added this place on Google Maps so that people will not have a hard time looking for it!

Absolutely amazing selection of underground heavy metal LPs from both Japan and around the world. Also, the dude that runs the place is really friendly and helpful. I'll always come back here whenever I'm in Tokyo.
