★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite pleasant and entertaining place. There are hundreds of sake vending machines, and you can drink up to 5 of them. The only difficulty is that it is hard to know which one fits your preferences! there are too many of them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over 100 Sake vending machines. English menus available. Staff will try their best to help you if you don't speak Japanese. There is list of new sakes and top 20 sales featured for the month. Many of the sake featured you can buy a bottle in the store. Great way to unwind after a long train ride from Tokyo to Niigata. Highly recommended for any sake lover or new to the sake drink. Make sure to buy a cucumber (100 yen) and try the different salts and flavour pastes for new experiences with each sake. 500 yen for 125 ml of high quality sake is worth every yen!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is like a sake vending machine. You can try five different types of sake produced in Niigata Prefecture only for paying 500¥. There are some explanations about the brewer and what kind of sake it is. For instance, the sake you are going to drink is for easy drinkers or complex, is it light or full, is it light, umami, or sweet. And there is also a QR code for all sake types for you to find more information.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting place to try out 5 different types of sake for ¥500 from the big selection of Sake.I like best that the store had pickles,miso, crackers etc to select on.Just the same lobby floor of Mets hotel nearby JR Station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited Echigo-Yuzawa Ponshukan before Niigata Ponsukan. Overall the sake experience at Niigata Ponshukan are good. However I’m more impressed with Echigo-Yuzawa Ponshukan sake selection, and prefer Echigo Yuzawa ambience, spacious and experiences.
