★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 10万人もの犠牲者が出たといわれる東京大空襲。淡島堂では毎年3月10日に、浅草大平和塔戦災殉難者法要が執り行われます。献花台には沢山の花が供えられます。
この大平和塔は、旧浅草区で犠牲になった約３万人の御霊を慰霊するために、建立されました。
塔の袂にある台座に書かれている言葉は、ノーベル物理学賞の湯川秀樹博士の直筆「みたまよ、とこしえに、安らかに、われら守らん、世界の和」。
塔の横には、戦災供養地蔵尊が祀られています。
 The Tokyo air raid is said to have claimed 100,000 casualties. At Awashimado, a memorial service for the victims of the Great War of Asakusa Peace Memorial is held on March 10 every year. Many flowers are offered at the dedication stand.
This Great Peace Tower was erected to memorialize the 30,000 spirits who were killed in the former Asakusa Ward.
The words written on the pedestal on the side of the tower are written by Dr. Hideki Yukawa at the Nobel Prize in Physics, "Mita Mayo, Forever, Rest in Peace, We Protect the World".
The war memorial memorial service statue is enshrined next to the tower.
