悲しい名の由来
藤吉は、仕事で佐渡に滞在中、お弁と恋仲になりました。ですが、藤吉には柏崎に妻子がいました。
柏崎へ帰った藤吉を忘れられないお弁は「たらい舟」に乗り、毎晩、藤吉に会いにきました。
お弁の熱意が恐ろしくなった藤吉は、嵐の夜、お弁が目当てにしていた番神岬の灯火を消してしまいました。お弁は目印を失って難破し、数日後、そのなきがらは青海川の海岸に打ち上げられました。
その場所に滝が落ちていたので、その滝を「お弁が滝」と呼ぶようになりました。

Origin of the sad name
While staying at Sado for work, Fujiyoshi fell in love with Oben. However, Fujiyoshi had a wife and child in Kashiwazaki.
The unforgettable lunch of Fujiyoshi who came back to Kashiwazaki got on a "Tarai boat" and came to see Fujiyoshi every night.
Fujiyoshi, whose enthusiasm for the valve became frightening, extinguished the light of Banjin Misaki, which he had been looking for on a stormy night. The dialect lost its landmark and was wrecked, and a few days later, it was launched on the coast of the Aomi River.
A waterfall had fallen at that location, so the waterfall came to be called "Obenaga Falls".

【名前の由来】佐渡の娘お弁は柏崎の藤吉と恋に落ちた。藤吉が柏崎に帰ると、お弁は毎晩たらい舟に乗って藤吉に会いにくるようになった。恐ろしくなった藤吉は、ある夜、お弁が柏崎を目指す目印にしていた番神岬のあかりを消してしま う。翌朝、お弁のなきがらが青海川の海岸にうちあげられた。その場所にあった滝を「お弁の滝」と呼ぶようになった。

[Origin of name] Sado's daughter Oben fell in love with Fujiyoshi of Kashiwazaki. When he returned to Kashiwazaki, the priest came to see Fujiyoshi every night on a trough boat. One night, Fujikichi, who is scared, erases the light at Banjin Misaki, which was a landmark for Obenaka or Kashiwazaki. The next morning, she was opened on the shore of the Aomi River, where she had no speech. The waterfall at that location was called "Obenou no Taki".
