★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真壁側(西側)から県道218号線を自転車(mtb)で登りましたが、道路が川みたいになっていたり、大きな石だらけだったり、ぬかるんでいたりで結構大変でした。西側は自転車で行かない方がいいと思います。歩きでもちょっと大変？かも

北筑波稜線林道、丸山林道が舗装路であるのに対し、交差する県道218号線は未舗装かつダートの悪路という逆転現象が起きている。
丸山林道と218号線大塚方面は採石場の大型ダンプの通行がある為、要注意。

The Kita-Tsukuba Ridge Forest Road and Maruyama Forest Road are paved roads, while the crossing Prefectural Road 218 is unpaved and has a dirt dirt road.
Be careful as there is a large dump at the quarry on the Maruyama Forest Road and Route 218 towards Otsuka.

1：30分程で加波山のふもとの桜観音迄歩けます。
悪路で足元注意ですが渓流を渡り、筑波山が
綺麗に見えます。

You can walk to Sakura Kannon at the foot of Mt. Kaba in about 1:30 minutes.

西側は通行止めではなく通行不能
近年崩落が激しく、もはや登山道である。
4輪駆動車やオフロードバイクなら走れる・・・・・・かな？
二輪車も四輪車も車両が傷付くのは当たり前、二輪車は勿論の事、四輪車でも転倒を覚悟しなければならない。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2022/1現在、真壁方面の林道は通行止。また八郷方面は通行できるものの、非鋪装のカーブミラーもない林道。FFの普通車で通れたが、少し荒れた路面であり、運転に自信なければ避けた方が無難
As of 2022/1, the forest road in the direction of Makabe is closed. In addition, although it is possible to pass in the direction of Hachigo, it is a forest road without unpaved curved mirrors. I could pass by a normal FF car, but the road surface is a little rough and it is safe to avoid it if you are not confident in driving.
