★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ひょっこりひょうたん島をテーマにした駅舎となった。少量ながら土産品もあり、復興したといえる。ちょうど駅の隣のスペースでラグビーのイベントをやっており、ドン・ガバチョの珍しい写真が撮れた。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昔NHKで放送されていた「ひょっこりひょうたん島」をモチーフにした駅舎や、各所にドンガバチョを始めとするキャラクターが配された素敵な場所です。駅から車で10分程の所に蓬莱島と呼ばれる ひょっこりひょうたん島にそっくりな島があり、大槌駅に観光で行かれる際はそちらもあわせてご覧になるとより楽しむ事が出来ると思います。
It is a nice place with station buildings with the motif of "Hyokkori Hyotan Island" that was broadcasted on NHK in the past and characters such as Don Gabacho in various places. About 10 minutes by car from the station, there is an island that looks exactly like Hyorakuri Hyotan Island called Horaijima, and when you go to Otsuchi station for sightseeing, you can also enjoy it.

グーグルマップを見ると何もなくて（線路すら）、これからのこの駅、この町の持続・発展を願わずにはいられない。
潤ったのは建設に関わる人だけで、復興とは何かを考えさせられた。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅です。三陸鉄道リアス線の電車が通ります。ひょうたんの形をした駅で、ひょっこりひょうたん島のキャラクターなどの像などが各所に見受けられました。
２階は展望スペースとなっていて電車などを上から見ることもできます。
駅構内には、軽食などがたべれる食事処も併設されています。
震災のあとに建てられた駅になりますので、駅自体あたらしく綺麗です。
無料で停めれる駐車場などもありました。
駅前にはお食事処も数件あるので、観光で訪れたり途中下車してお昼を食べる場所としてもいいとおもいます。
