It takes 1 hour 20 minutes from the campsite parking lot to Otaki, and 50 minutes on the way back. It is easy to walk near the entrance, but the forest road is mostly rocky or stairs. There is a steep slope on the hillside from the hut, so it may be impossible for small children and people with weak legs. Otaki is a large and respectable waterfall. It's worth seeing. From Otaki to Metaki, it was a difficult 40 minutes after crossing the river, so my heart broke back.

Although the wooden path is well maintained, there is a rocky area in front of the waterfall, so it is better to avoid sandals and heel shoes if you go to the waterfall (if you can go trekking shoes or more if possible). I went to the fresh green season, so it was very nice to have Moegi and clear water. Please note that the campsite is not open at this time so you cannot use the restroom.

The promenade is well maintained and nice. You need to have some physical strength to reach the innermost Meotodaki (Otokotaki). But the waterfall with a head of 80 ㍍ is worth a visit ✨

The 80m-high Meotodaki waterfall at the back is unquestionably powerful. It is a famous waterfall.
The wooden boardwalk is very slippery when wet. You can also slip on mountain climbing shoes. If you think that the promenade is well maintained up to Meotodaki, you can go from the evacuation hut to a full-scale mountain trail. Our kindergarten child has retired.
The water is clean and the distance is reasonable, so you will be satisfied with the hike.

A powerful couple waterfall !!
I used it for climbing Mt. Kohide, but the well-maintained wooden path slips well.
It takes an hour to an hour and a half to reach Meotodaki, which has a head of 80 meters, but it's worth a visit!
If you go near the waterfall basin, you can enjoy the power of roaring and splashing water.

The entrance to Mt. Kohide.
I arrived at the campsite in the evening, so I decided to stay overnight and climb on a day trip.
It was dim in the morning and I couldn't enjoy the valley, so I decided to stop the tour and enjoy the valley on my way home. I enjoyed the scenery while walking along the river while looking at the waterfall, but it is safer to go around when climbing Mt. Kohide.
Good going and scary on the way home.
A tour is recommended for those who are not very accustomed to the mountains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Maiden’s Ravine is a fantastic scenic area with multiple waterfalls flowing from up high.
The trail is in pretty good condition although damage from falling rocks makes you feel caution is advised.
The final waterfall is the Meoto Fall and it is quite stunning. 80m high! And it is also possible to walk above it if you were continue along the trail to Mt Kohide.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was just AMAZING ? a bit scary but I definitely will go again.
There were some snow already and some steps are quite damaged…need to take care.
I am not sure as the sunlight was too strong but because of the shape, I think I saw a small bear around so better no forget your bear bell.
Entrance is inside the camping area, parking fee is required.
PS: Sometimes we don't realize it but please don't leave your garbage lying around.
