「休み石」車のない時代に、畑や田んぼから重い農作物を背負って自宅まで運ぶ時に、休息を取りながら休んだ石の台で非常に珍重された。明治・大正・昭和の終戦の頃まで使われた赤崩石です。町内には各方面に３〜４箇所あった貴重な遺産です。
