★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice experience to come here in early morning (or late night...). The tuna auction is at 4:15. There is no tourist so the experience is different from Tsukiji in Tokyo. There's nothing to see if you come later in the day though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome! Had 7 plates of sushi (5 pieces per plate) and two miso soups and it only cost 8850 yen. Suggest going just before lunch time rush or you'll have to wait as it is a pretty small place. English menu available and also the staff are super friendly and helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a really good soba noodle shop here and the owner was really nice and conversed with us using Google translate. Unfortunately, we came here for the market which we learnt closes around 9am. If you want to come to the fresh food market, you will have to be here between 6 to 9 am. As for the food. They appear to be open in normal hours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Personally i liked it very much seeing fresh produce of Japan and seafood. Its not the best for typical tourist as this is a commercial business area but there many shops around the corner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Required walking from public transport, need to visit early morning to meet business hours, but there are still shops with great local produces open.
We love katsuo shop, quality but cheap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came for the tuna auction which is the same as the old Tsukiji market in Tokyo. We got to stand right next to the auctioneers and really feel like we were part of it. AMAZING! I don't know why there weren't any other tourists but they all missed out!
The auction is in on of the J bays (ours was J12) and starts promptly at 4:15. The auction goes fast and expect it be over by 30 minutes.
So much fun and highly recommended!
